Why hygiene?
In a recent survey, 67% of homeless reported one or more preventable health conditions and 34% reported that this health condition made it difficult for them to keep a job, maintain relationships, or to handle basic activities of daily living. Establishing proper hygiene is key to a sense of self and better health. This includes having proper access to first aid products, regularly brushing teeth, washing hair, washing hands, wearing deodorant, menstrual hygiene products, and clean underwear and socks. When people don’t have access to these products, many consequences will develop ranging from unemployment to serious diseases. This is why Project CARE is dedicated to providing hygiene and medical products to underprivileged communities, focusing on preventing serious medical conditions rather than curing them.
