Raphael house drop off

Two volunteers dropped off our baby hygiene cart at Raphael House in San Francisco, an organization helping low income families and families experiencing homelessness. About 2/3 of the families at Raphael House are headed by single moms, who may have very young children and even infants. This is why we fundraised and donated a cart containing baby towels, diaper cream, baby shampoo and body wash, baby toothbrushes, baby toothpaste, masks, and first aid products. We hope to partner with Raphael House further in the future!

Women’s Hygiene Kits Donation

On March 13th, the Project C.A.R.E youth team packaged 25 women's hygiene kits. These kits included pads, soap, tampons, and educational pamphlets containing information on how to change menstrual hygiene products, maintaining a balanced diet, risks of not changing products often enough, and different symptoms of menstruation such as PMS and physical/emotional symptoms.  These kits were packaged and fundraised for solely by the youth team, consisting of middle schoolers from across the Bay Area. They were donated to Light for his Kingdom, an organization which provides essential goods and personal belongings to foster children, single moms, and orphans around the world.

Samiritan House Drop Off

On July 2nd, two passionate Dental Hygiene Team leaders from CARE visited Samaritan House in San Mateo, where they took out their time to drop off 72 Dental Hygiene Kits. These kits contained 2 toothbrushes, 2 tubes of toothpaste, 1 tongue scraper, one floss box, and a thoroughly researched phamplet made by our own volunteers. These phamplets included how to use the items inside the kit, as well as how to practice proper dental hygiene, and detect early signs of dental issues. Project C.A.R.E. and the Dental Hygiene team hopes that these supplies and phamplets will help out many people at the shelter. We hope to do much more distributions and in-persons events with Samiritan House in the future!

Dental Kits Packaging Event

On Sunday May 30th,  our dental hygiene team arranged a packing event! Members of the medical and dental team attended, working to create 72 kits with vital materials for basic hygiene and to prevent things like gum disease. 6 members attended and created kits containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and tongue scrapers. The team also created a pamphlet which included how use every item in the kit, how to look out for diseases, and local free clinics. These kits will be passed out to our local homeless population in a soon to be scheduled drive!

Baby Hygiene Packaging Event

On Tuesday, June 22, nine C.A.R.E. volunteers stepped up to prepare supply bins for the homeless. Through fundraisers such as art classes and an Etsy shop, the baby hygiene team was able to raise enough money to purchase hygiene and medical supplies for the bins that were distributed. These supplies included baby shampoo, diaper rash cream, baby powder, baby wipes, baby toothpaste and toothbrushes, as well as baby nail clippers and baby towels. Along with these supplies, educational pamphlets were provided that explained everything people needed to know about the products. The hygiene products were split between two bins, one for medical supplies and one specifically for baby hygiene. These bins were later put onto a special rolling cart that will be given to the shelter and restocked by C.A.R.E. on a regular basis. The rolling cart was hand painted and decorated by the members at the packaging event, serving...

Shelter INC Drop Off

This past Monday at 11 am, six dedicated members from CARE visited Shelter Inc in Concord, where they volunteered their time to provide supplies to the homeless. They distributed a large amount of masks, a necessity during this pandemic, as well as medical kits for the shelter to use and dispense when needed. Aside from the masks and medical kits, the shelter was also given descriptive pamphlets to be distributed alongside the supplies. These pamphlets gave clear instructions on how to use the supplies, any cautions to keep in mind when using the masks/kits, and additional things to know about the provided materials. Project C.A.R.E. hopes that with these vital medical supplies and informative pamphlets, the tough lives of those at the homeless shelter will be made just a little bit easier and that it gives them hope for the future. We aim to create a lasting impact by continuing...

First Aid packaging event

Last Saturday, seven members of the Medical Team worked together to assemble medical kits for the less fortunate. The Covid-19 pandemic has had significant effects on the homeless and working class so the Medical Team raised money for supplies to provide kits for them! One member, Manasvi J., held a medical drive to gather unused supplies from the community, much of which were used in this month’s kits. These kits contained bandages, alcohol wipes, hydrocortisone, gauze, baby wipes, dog bags, and tribiotic ointment! They also included masks, one of the most vital necessities amid the pandemic. Along with these supplies, members of the Medical Team collaborated to make a pamphlet with information about common injuries as well as contact resources. If someone suffered a minor burn, they could look at the pamphlet to learn how to treat it and where to go if further care is necessary. Overall, this first...

Dublin 4 – H Medical Drive

The medical drive took place in the last two weeks! Numerous people donated to the drive! All the supplies are going to be packaged into small kits. After the kits have been packaged, the supplies will be given out to the general homeless population in the Tri - Valley. Contributing to this cause is great because many of us have supplies we have that are just laying around. A lot of the items we own will just be tossed away or lost because we don't use them. These kits are advantageous because they can be used by the homeless to prevent major illnesses caused by easily treatable things. For example, if someone has a large scrape that goes untreated, it might get infected and that could lead to more severe treatment which costs a lot. Many of these homeless people don't have the money to get health insurance and proper...

School Supply Packaging With CityServe

This Saturday, February 6, 2021, we partnered up with CityServe in order to pack school supply kits for children of veterans living in Valor Crossing. The supplies were donated through a fundraiser done by the Rotary Club. We made more than 60 bags full of supplies that the kids will be able to use for the rest of the year. The bags consisted of notebooks, folders, pens, markers, crayons, and a lot of pencils. Of course, we didn’t forget masks. Each kit contained 3-5 reusable homemade masks, which is enough to last the entire family for quite a while. The masks were very colorful, with different patterns. Thanks to CityServe for being so supportive and for bringing this project to us. We hope that the children who receive these kits enjoy them because they were definitely a lot of fun to pack! We hope to participate in future projects such...
