The medical drive took place in the last two weeks! Numerous people donated to the drive! All the supplies are going to be packaged into small kits. After the kits have been packaged, the supplies will be given out to the general homeless population in the Tri – Valley. Contributing to this cause is great because many of us have supplies we have that are just laying around. A lot of the items we own will just be tossed away or lost because we don’t use them. These kits are advantageous because they can be used by the homeless to prevent major illnesses caused by easily treatable things. For example, if someone has a large scrape that goes untreated, it might get infected and that could lead to more severe treatment which costs a lot. Many of these homeless people don’t have the money to get health insurance and proper hygiene so it’s important to prevent these things beforehand so they don’t become an immense problem! The turnout of the medical drive was great! Most of the donations came through an organization called Dublin 4-H. We were able to get a lot of youth involvement through 4-H. Kids of all ages were able to donate! We got numerous donations which consisted of supplies like wipes and gauze which will be very useful!
